Timber merchant chooses Brick
Blackburn company JAS Timber may be running a traditional timber and building supplies business, but they are completely up-to-date in the continual drive to keep up with new technology.
A partnership between Trevor Stones of JAS Timber and Colin Clarke of long-standing Blackburn web development company Brick technology, was forged at a Lancashire Innovation Network training session. Brick produced JAS Timber’s e-commerce website and has now launched their brand new site, updated and adapted for viewing on mobile devices.
Family-run business, JAS Timber, is based in Lower Audley, Blackburn. Director Trevor Stones is the son of founder William Stones. Their most popular products are timber doors, hardware, stair parts and door handles and the business has been running for 36 years.
Trevor Stones commented: “Like so many retailers these days, I recognised that maintaining an up-to-date online shop is fundamental to promoting the business and gaining sales. Technological changes and the mobile-friendly site means we can sell to the vast amount of people who now buy via mobiles and tablets.“
The new site is able to interact with the latest technologies such as Windows 8, Internet Explorer 10, Safari and Apple. Employees are able to download video and images with more flexibility and upload product pages that interact with JAS Timber’s partners and suppliers.
Trevor added: “I’m hoping that our customers will get the benefit and it will be easier for them to buy from us.”
Colin Clarke of Brick Technology said: “Brick’s CMS 2.4 content managed system is a state-of-the-art system that allows our clients to interact quickly and effectively with customers, suppliers and enquirers. JAS Timber can now keep their site content fresh and compete effectively in the building supplies market place.”
